Yet another pointless PortableApp. This one opens up your User Accounts Manager…

This has only been tested on Windows XP and is not approved or endorsed by PortableApps.com.

There is no installer, but it is quite easy to install… just unzip and copy the folder to your ‘\PortableApps\’ directory on your removable drive. Then choose ‘OPTIONS -> REFRESH APP ICONS’ and it should be available in your PortableApps menu.

The removeAdmin utility is pretty neat… It runs your web browser with limited user privileges, in effect it keeps it from writing to your ‘Program Files’ and ‘Windows’ directories. Many malware programs copy themselves to one (or both) of these directories. In effect it can help reduce the amount of malware that gets installed on your system by restricting write access to these directories (they are where important system files are kept and are often an attack vector for malware).

The default installer will attempt to create secure shortcuts on your desktop for Internet Explorer and Firefox web browser. It is my understanding that it can be configured (with minimal effort) to run with other browsers as well. Here is a screenshot example showing how I have it configured for use with Firefox.

Well I guess I am just bored, so here is another pointless PortableApp. This one opens up your Windows XP Mixer… I really like the PortableApps software and I can pack a lot on my 8GB USB memory card.

Okay, so I am bored on a Sunday night and decided to package another PortableApp for Windows XP. This one just brings up your ‘Game Controllers’ window.

Yes, I use Linux for most things, but I have a dual-boot set up between Fedora and Windows XP. I play a few games that are Windows only, so I have to keep Windows around…
