Next Update, Please…

OK, the blog works now (well at least on the one computer I tested it on). I doubt anyone is going to read this, but what the hell… and I promise I’ll update the site soon.

Kevin brought his digital camera to practice last week and we got a few new pics of us playing. He also lined up another gig for us soon (another private party, sorry). We have been so focused on recording that it will be fun to go play these songs live (especially the new ones), not just playing the same song over and over in the studio until you get the best performance. I think the quality of the recording and songwriting is the best work that I have ever been a part of and I can’t wait until it’s finished.

DOSBox and Linux

I got bored last night and installed DOSBox and QJoyPad for Linux. Using DOSBox I was able to get my favorite old DOS games running perfectly (Aces Over Europe, Aces of the Pacific, and Red Baron). I had to install pmidi and fluidsynth for Aces Over Europe to have sound and I used QJoyPad to map the throttle and joystick rotation to keyboard buttons (for Windows, Joy2Key should work to remap keys if needed, DOSBox has a mapper but my Saitek X52 has too many axes [that really is the plural of axis]).
